Volunteers
Our volunteers are undoubtedly the “heart and soul” of our Pathways’ programs. Whether they are buying groceries for the elderly, talking a student through their grief, leading our support groups, or helping us plan fundraisers, our amazing volunteers are the reason why Pathways continues to make such a deep impact in so many communities and so many lives.
There is definitely a volunteer role that fits your skills, personality, and passion. If you are interested in pursuing a volunteer position with us, click on the "Volunteer" button on the top of this page. Here are some of the positions we have available:
Patient/Hospice Caregivers
Agency Training required for the following position:
-
Caregivers who meet with clients once a week to assist them with socialization, running errands, and other misc. duties. Requires training and a minimum of 2-4 hours per week.
Hospice Respite
Agency Training required for the following position:
-
Caregivers who sit with a client allowing the family to take care of other things or simply rest. Usually 2-4 hours, as needed.
Bereavement Facilitators
Training required for the following positions:

School Group Facilitators lead groups at various schools in the area as needed during the week.

Changes Family Groups are held for 7 consecutive Tuesday Evenings from 6:30 – 9 p.m. (last hour is debriefing groups) three times per year (October/January/April)

Journey’s Adult Bereavement Facilitator – Co-lead an adult bereavement support group 9 weeks on Tuesday Evenings from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Pathways offices.

Widows Support Group Facilitator on Mondays from 12:30-2 p.m.
Office Volunteers
No Agency Training Required:

Watering/Gardening of our Grief Garden (Thursday/Friday) each week
-
Receptionist to answer phones and misc. light office work.

Recycling Volunteer as needed to handle our recycling.
Special Events
No Agency Training Required:
-
Special Events Volunteer – Assist with preparation for major events like LUAL (December), Theater Party (January). This can be anything from prepping beforehand by making baskets, name tags, etc. to working at the event.

Volunteer Assistant – Assist our Volunteer Coordinator at monthly in-services and special events in the evenings.

Housekeeping. Someone to go through offices once a quarter and clean cobwebs, windows, etc. to keep them looking good.

Mailings. Assist with bulk mailings that go out a few times a year.

Volunteer Appreciation Help (assist with set-up, serving, tear down) at the end of April or beginning of May (teens acceptable along with Adults)

Crafts for gifts for clients (scarves, lap blankets, ornaments) to take caroling.

Christmas Carolers to sing to our clients (December)
