Cindy Skovgard, Executive Director- Cindy’s 25 years Experience in the community relations. Fundraising and non-profit management has helped Pathways gain its reputation in the community as the organization people turn to for hospice, volunteer caregiving and bereavement support. She studied Child and Family Development at California State University Long Beach, wit an emphasis in behavior modification. IN her professional positions she has served as Executive Director for the Greater Long Beach, Mission Valley and Fullerton’s YMCA’s, consultant for KBE. For the past 11 years, Cindy has coordinated Pathways’ community outreach efforts including several events, volunteer training, grant writing, a speaker’s bureau and a number of community collaborations. Her professional affiliation includes the National Hospice Organization, the California State Hospice and Palliative and Palliative Care Association and the CSHA Volunteer Hospice Task Force.

Bill Hoy, Bereavement Program Advisor- With over 20 yrs. Of professional experience in the field of death and dying, Bill is an educator, counselor, writer, and speaker. In both his undergraduate and graduate studies, Bill focused attention on the issues related to death and grief. He is the author of several pamphlets, journal articles and three books used by grieving people and the professionals who work with them, including Finding Direction in Your Grief: Charting a Course for personal Growth, now in its second printing. He holds professional membership in the Association for Death Education and Counseling, the American Association for Adult and Continuing Education, the Professional Bereavement Resource Group for the Los Angeles County Interagency Council on Child Abuse and Neglect (ICAN), and the Council of Hospice Professionals of the National Hospice Organization. In his role as Executive Director of Grief Resources, Bill speaks to groups of professionals and grieving people across North America. In addition, Bill continues to work with dying patients and bereaved families through his work as Hospice Chaplain and Bereavement Coordinator. He also serves on the Health Science Faculty at Cypress teaching grief studies, counseling and bio-ethics.
